3 days...

...until the wedding! Yep, there is a valid reason as to why I've been so quiet for so long - I have been trying to plan my wedding to Mr Moo AND Mr Moo & I thought it was a good idea to buy our first place together AT THE SAME TIME. We thought, "wedding planning isn't stressful enough, let's add house buying too!".  I like to think that a nice number of gin and juices led to this insane decision but I'm afraid that it was simply stupidity/naivety (delete as you wish or keep both).  So it's been an especially trying and stressful time for us and we're both looking forward to being able to sit in our new home as lo-gung and lo-po (husband and wifey) and not have to think about seating plans or readings. Yay!

We're currently squatting at my lovely sister's house until we finalise everything with the house. We were hoping we'd complete before the wedding but looks like it will be after now *sigh*.  Still, it will be very exciting when we finally get into the place and slowly start doing it up! Oh, and yes, the wedding will also be exciting too. Sorry, there's been so much wedding stress that I'm bit like 'argh!' whenever I think about it at the moment but when talking to a few people who have recently got married, they were (and still are) having the exact same feelings about their weddings as I am about ours at the moment. Would have been so much easier to elope!

A few sneaky peeks at some things that have been made for the wedding:

Also, if you haven't spotted this already via my tweets or FB page then here are some pics from our mini engagement shoot with our lovely photographer, Hannah Millard. The whole shoot can be found by clicking here.

It was v strange having someone take pictures of you whilst you're meant to just act 'natural' and as if the photographer wasn't there. Mr Moo & I got through it by mocking each other (normal practice really) so there were lots of giggles and made us feel a lot more relaxed. After meeting Hannah and looking again at the weddings she'd done on her blog, I got paranoid that we and our wedding just wasn't 'cool enough' for her but then Mr Moo says 'we are paying her to make us look cool'. Good point Mr Moo. Take a look at her other fabulous wedding photos that she's taken, I do really feel so lucky to have found her at such short notice.

Need sleep now. Still more to do before the big day but I find blogging calms me a little. Night all! x

It's been a while...

...and I'm really sorry! But last December, my fiance and I finally set a date for the wedding and it is very, very soon. So everything has been focused on this one event and I have tidied a lot of my sewing things away so I don't get tempted into making things that are not for the wedding.  I've been collecting lots of jam jars and making button holes similar to these (which my fiance is not so keen on so they may be scrapped) and this weekend I will be making some tissue paper pom poms with my sister. If you want to take a peek at the sort of thing I'm going for, take a look at my pinterest page!

Hope everyone is enjoying 2012 so far!

Countdown to Christmas

This is more of an oldie than a recent thing but I didn't have a blog when I made it. Last year, my sister told me about an advent calendar she saw that was made out of a mini muffin tin. So we bought some mini muffin tins, some pretty Christmassy card toppers and magnetic sheets normally used for printing photos and proceeded to messy up my front room!

Carefully decorating each magnet

Ta-da! Here is the finished product!

And here is my sister's version in green and red.

Best thing about this is that it's re-usable and can be used as a normal baking tin for the other 11 months of the year :)
